It’s never outdated in mechanic design to discuss about how to fasten a nut. As far as we know, there are already some existing anti-loose nut like hard lock nut from Japan, Tang nuts and self-lock king from China.In exception to these star lock nuts, there are also some basic methods for nuts anti-loosing.
1 Add a flat washer
A fat washer is a part between nut and components to be connected. It’s generally a flat metal ring which can protect the components surface from being scratched by nuts and disperse pressure to the components.

During installation of the nuts, we can add a flat washer between the nut and components to be connected to prevent the nuts from loosing and protect the components.

2 Add both fast washers and spring washer

If the parts need to be frequently installing and uninstalling, we can add an additional spring washer which has good flexibility and not easy to be deformed. Spring washer is widely applied since its convenient installation and cost saving.

3 Choose self-lock nuts

Normal nut are easy to loose by vibration, self-lock nuts are born to solve this issue. Their self locking performance come from frictional force. Besides anti-loose function, they can also vibration resistant. Self-locking nut are classified into nylon insert lock nuts, metal lock nuts and self-closing nuts. It need to choose the types of lock nuts according to specific requirements&demand.

4  Paint anti-loosening liquid

Adopt exclusive anti-loosening liquid and paint on the bolt threads, and then install the nuts on. It’s also a good method to strongly fasten the nuts.

5 Install two nuts together

If the bolts or thread rods are long enough, we can install two nuts on  them for anti-loosing. It’s better to have one left had nuts and one right hand nut to achieve better anti-loose effect.

6 Drill holes and add a pin

In mechanic installation, a pin is mainly used for spacing, while it can also be used for connecting and anti-loosing.We can drill holes both on the nuts and the bolts or thread rods to be connected,install the nuts and then insert a pin through the holes. There are many types of such pins like round pins, concave pins, slotted pins, safety pins etc, it’s better to be cautious while choosing the right pins.

Only when the nuts is completely fastened, the wholes parts will not loose after installation. So it’s important to pay attention to anti-loosing to avoid possible fastening failure.
